Festival of FUN 2025 Expands to Wollongong With Accessible Activities On March 1
The ARHG Foundation is proud to announce the 2025 Festival of FUN, set to take place on 1 March 2025 in Wollongong, NSW. This event – one of the largest of its kind in Australia – is designed to celebrate inclusivity and accessibility, bringing people of all abilities together for a day of entertainment and discovery.
Tickets can be purchased for $10 at https://www.festivaloffun.com.au/
Following two successful years on the Gold Coast, Queensland, the Festival of FUN will be held in Wollongong for the first time. The event features a dynamic lineup of live music from artists with and without disabilities, an accessible sports competition, a petting zoo, and an exhibition hall showcasing valuable resources for individuals with special needs and their families.
A recent report from ABC News found that people with disabilities face difficulty attending live concerts or sporting events due to inadequate accessibility options and discrimination. The Festival of FUN directly addresses these challenges by ensuring a fully inclusive environment, with accessible facilities, sensory-friendly spaces, and activities designed with disability inclusion at their core.
“I’ve been in the disability space as a volunteer for over 25 years, and what we’ve found is that there are no events like this, especially for families. We wanted to create an event where everyone could come together and celebrate in a truly inclusive environment,” said David (Macca) McFarland, Director and Founder of the Festival of FUN. “Everyone is loving, caring, and welcoming—it’s a space where people with disabilities can experience joy, community, and connection like never before.”
With its expansion to Wollongong, the Festival of FUN is setting the foundation for an even greater vision—to become the premier global festival celebrating disability inclusion. By bridging communities across Australia and beyond, the event champions accessibility, fun, and empowerment, reinforcing the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate fully in life’s celebrations.
