The ARHG Foundation is pleased to announce the third annual Festival of FUN, taking place on 1 March 2025 in Wollongong, New South Wales. This disability-friendly festival is designed to be fully accessible, providing an opportunity for people of all ability levels to come together and celebrate through live music, interactive activities, and inclusive entertainment.

Tickets can be purchased for $10 at https://www.festivaloffun.com.au/

A 2022 report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) found that almost one in five Australians (18%) have a disability, with accessibility remaining a significant challenge in everyday activities. The Festival of FUN aims to address these barriers by creating an event where entertainment, recreation, and community engagement are accessible to all.

Now in its third year, the Festival of FUN is one of the largest inclusive events in Australia, specifically designed to provide a welcoming and engaging space for people with disabilities. Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere featuring live performances, sports activities, a petting zoo, and interactive exhibits. The festival is open to all but is structured with accessibility as a top priority, ensuring that people with disabilities can fully participate and enjoy the event.

“I’ve been in the disability space as a volunteer for over 25 years and what we’ve found is that there are no events like this, especially for families,” said David (Macca) McFarland, Director and Founder. “So we wanted to create a space where everyone could come together. Everyone is kind, supportive, and part of one big family. That’s what makes this festival so special.”

The Festival of FUN has rapidly grown into a national movement, with plans for future expansions, both nationally and internationally. It represents a global celebration of people with disabilities, promoting awareness and diversity through music and community engagement.

For those unable to attend in person, the festival will offer live-streaming options, allowing individuals across the country and worldwide to join in the experience.
