With its substance abuse treatment program, Addiction Resource Center seeks to help each participant tackle trauma, stress, PTSD, and other triggers for addiction while developing healthy coping mechanisms for the daily stresses of their military duties.

According to the National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics (NCDAS), 80% of U.S. veterans have reported issues with alcohol abuse, with 7% of them struggling with illegal drug use compared to 5.3% of the general population over the age of 18.

To help mitigate any mental health and substance abuse issues that may arise during military service, Addiction Resource Center provides cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and other evidence-based therapies under its TriCare-approved IOP, giving participants the tools to identify the root causes of their addictions, curb negative thought patterns, and change their behaviors in the long term.

The substance abuse program also features family therapy and group therapy, fostering a supportive community as participants work to overcome their addictions and balance their home and work lives.

Active military members who take Addiction Resource Center’s program will also benefit from TriCare insurance and a treatment plan adapted to their schedule and mental health needs.

About Addiction Resource Center

Since its establishment, Addiction Resource Center has provided evidence-based telehealth and in-person mental health care to individuals and families in California struggling with substance abuse, including outpatient addiction treatment, alcohol addiction recovery, and drug rehab services. By providing the U.S. military with a special substance abuse treatment program, the center continues to offer people an opportunity to live more fulfilling lives.

“Treatment was a blessing. To be able to actually look at why I used rather than figuring out how to use on a daily basis taught me about who I am,” said a former participant currently in recovery.
