Sofia Sampaio Blends Brazilian Rhythms with 90s Rock Sensibilities in New Pop Anthems
Alternative singer-songwriter Sofia Sampaio has released her debut EP, Everything Is Ok, available now on all major streaming platforms. Written between ages 19 and 21, the six-song project traces a true coming-of-age arc—pairing Sampaio’s Brazilian roots with the emotional grit of ’90s rock, intimate lyricism, and modern indie edge.
Opening track “everything is ok” sets the tone with field recordings from the London Underground, a sonic postcard from Sampaio’s year living abroad at 18. Across the EP, she navigates anxiety, gratitude, and self-growth (“everything is ok”); the frayed edges of past relationships (“soma”); a right-person-wrong-time confession (“somebody else”); the dizzy fun and fallout of crushes (“Better Off Bored”); the ache of unrequited love (“Invisible”); and the bittersweet reset of moving home (“say it again”). “These songs share a unique feeling of coming of age as they reflect how I’ve dealt with growing up and coming into my own,” Sampaio says.
